♦WEB DESIGN♦
In today's society, a company's website is the first point of contact for many prospective clients. This virtual visit is often a potential customer's first impression of your company and can set the tone for how professional your business is perceived. With that being said, we take into careful consideration the importance of designing and implementing a website that attracts potential clients and conveys a dynamic image to your target audience.
In order to develop the proper look and feel of a website, we research our client's needs, current situation, target audience, demographics, and competition. This research, combined client preferences, allows us to create personalized designs that fit the needs of the customer and website visitors. Our designs provide unique solutions for each situation, without the use of pre-developed graphical templates.
One of the key ingredients to a NetWise Design site is usability. Simply put, if the site is not easy to navigate, explore, and use, people are less likely to spend much time visiting. We develop websites that are simply user friendly. The method in which we display information will encourage use and assist in easy information retrieval. It will always be apparent where the guest's current location is on the website and where that corresponds to the website as a whole. This ease of navigation will ensure the visitor does not become lost or confused when using the site.
Another important element to proper website etiquette is efficiency. We believe that load times should be kept minimal. We also believe that websites should be visually stimulating. In order to accomplish the best of both worlds, we have established methods of making graphically appealing compositions of how a website will look and then converting the "mock-up" into efficient, web-accessible code. We possess a current understanding of both the visual and programmatic components of a website and thus are able to achieve successful results.
Generally, we select a technique that best suits the given situation. In some cases, we use a technology based on the needs of the client, while in other instances we select what our experience suggests to be the best fit. We use several technologies and platforms for web design in our projects that include:
- HTML - DHTML - XHTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- PHP
- ASP.NET
- AJAX
In order to maximize efficiency, reduce code duplication overhead, and allow fluidity among a website's themes, we develop most of our projects without the use of tables. Many popular sites being developed today rely on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) rather than tables. Tables are restrictive and can actually hinder the ability of a search engine's bots to examine a page properly. Using style sheets to control the information on a page insures the HTML is a semantic markup and allows for multiple themes to be available for a site without having to change the base HTML files. This NetWise Design site does not have a single table present in its design!
